Lunch at Broder’s Cucina ItalianaPosted: February 26, 2012
Sunday already? Where did the weekend go??
We’ve been downright lazy today, it’s almost embarrassing. It’s gloomy outside anyway – not much for motivation.
Well, so anyway. I mentioned in my last post that we’ve had some yummy eats the past couple of days. Yesterday over the lunch hour we dined at Broder’s Cucina Italiana, a less-than-10-minute drive from our house.
Their space is divided into a market/grocery store with loads of gourmet Italian ingredients.
Bottles and jars and bags of this and that lined the shelves – all of it was mouth-watering.
Inside the freezer case, Broder’s homemade fresh pasta….ayyyy!
We made our way to the other side, the deli and cozy dining room. Once again, so many yummy choices, how do you pick?
I would like one of everything, please.
Their deli counter had a generous selection of cheese, meats, and freshly-made salads.
I ordered the eggplant Parmesan sandwich on foccacia (left), DT chose the chicken Parmesan sandwich, also on foccacia.
Holy smokes, this sandwich was outta this world. The bread was soft and airy, with perfect hints of garlic and rosemary. The eggplant was lightly breaded and smothered with ooey-gooey Parmesan and tangy tomato sauce. It was a mess to eat, but so worth it! Again, me = stuffed.
Are you watching the Oscar’s tonight? I’ve got Live From the Red Carpet on now. 😉
Enjoy the evening!
