Ladies Cocktail Party

Last night my friend Emily had some gals over for a Ladies Cocktail Party. She’d made all sorts of fancy simple syrups and infused vodkas and found some sophisticated recipes to showcase her wares.
Here was the cocktail “menu” she sent out yesterday afternoon:
Ginger, Rosemary & Lime
Grapefruit, Pomegranate & Cayenne
Gin, Licor 43, Olive Oil & Egg White
Clementine, Pomegranate, Cava & Orange
Pineapple & Vanilla
I just love pretty bottles with yummy things inside….
To say that we ate and drank well would be a massive understatement. Everybody brought a little something to eat, so we had a wide variety….Caprese and quinoa salads, chips and guacamole, Brie and goat cheese….
….veggies and dip, crackers and cheese, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies (guess who brought those?!), even Brussels sprouts! My oh my, what a spread.
But the drinks were so much fun and definitely the highlight of the evening.
Emily even made little recipe cards we could take home….cute!
My first cocktail was the Spring Gimlet. So light and spring-like….I love the zest from the ginger.
Here, a batch of Valentinos (I didn’t try this one):
My second drink was Health & Beauty. All of the flavors in this drink were subtle….the notes of lavender came through, but were subdued. Maybe the cream toned everything down?
Here’s our lovely bartender Emily in action!
My last drink of the evening was also my favorite: the Tomgirl. Ruby red vodka and pomegranate simple syrup were so tart and fresh. An unexpected zing from cayenne in the Tomgirl mix made this cocktail POP.
What a fun and delicious evening….thank you, Emily!
